Chicken Shawarma Wrap

Description

Flavorful marinated chicken wrapped in flatbread with vegetables and sauce.

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 flatbreads or pita
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • Tahini sauce or garlic yogurt sauce

Instructions

    In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and all spices.

    Slice chicken thighs into strips and add to the marinade.

    Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

    Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat.

    Cook chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until cooked through.

    Warm the flatbreads briefly on the grill or in a dry pan.

    Spread sauce on each flatbread.

    Top with chicken, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and onion.

    Roll up tightly and serve immediately.
