Chicken Shawarma Wrap

Description
Flavorful marinated chicken wrapped in flatbread with vegetables and sauce.
Ingredients
- 500g chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 flatbreads or pita
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- Tahini sauce or garlic yogurt sauce
Instructions
- 1In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and all spices.
- 2Slice chicken thighs into strips and add to the marinade.
- 3Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- 4Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat.
- 5Cook chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until cooked through.
- 6Warm the flatbreads briefly on the grill or in a dry pan.
- 7Spread sauce on each flatbread.
- 8Top with chicken, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and onion.
- 9Roll up tightly and serve immediately.
